Welcome to Rickety Kate Glass Jewellery

Around 15yrs ago I was introduced to fusing glass by Jacquline King who is an extraordinary glass artist. From this introduction it has taken off to be a hobby that I love to immerse myself in. 

Why RICKETY KATE? This is a nickname given to me by a lovely close family friend (Uncle Norm), when I was a baby, due to my middle family name being Rickaby. My mum has since shortened it over the years to be Katie.

Glass fusing has given me an amazing hobby where I can create brightly coloured jewellery that is inspired from the colours and everyday living that nature provides.

The view from my studio provides a bougainvillea bush that is bright green with spectacular fuchsia flowers, beyond this bush is a background of orange trees with soft white blossoms and when in season the bright juicy oranges shout out to be picked. There are sheep grazing, many birds, bees and flowers.

The days I am lucky enough to create new jewellery, I always have my Quality Assurance Officer, Safety Officer and Board of Directors....... Emmy, Booboo, Bruiser, Ginger & Sally are great employees and always agree with my choices. They are my puppy dogs.
